.

Can you believe that AERA 2022 has ended?

.

We cannot tell you enough how much fun we had catching up with you face-to-face, and hearing about the ways you are putting Dedoose to work in your classrooms, research, and teams.

.

We would like to take a moment to recap some of the highlights of our first conference in TWO YEARS and congratulate the student researchers who participated in the Annual Business Meeting’s DivE Seed Grant Competition this year.

.

We were thrilled to serve as a sponsor for both events!

.

We hope you were able to stop by our booth, and both behold and GET ahold of some of our branded SWAG.

.

(Do not worry: we are tallying the raffle results and promise to contact the winner soon)

.

We will end this blog with a sneak peek of some of what May will have to offer our loyal Dedoosers!

.

American Education Research Association Annual Meeting: Highlights

.

You may be in the same boat when it comes to the fact that this was our first physical, in-person attendance of an event in over two years!

.

Although we had to “hide” behind our masks for the safety of the event, we could detect a lot of smiles underneath! We had so much fun listening to your feedback, catching up, and handing out fun items (like candy, USBs, and backpacks).

.

.

We also enjoyed those of you who indulged our puns, including the premium swag branded coffee, “Grounded Theory,” which cracked a lot of you (and ourselves) up!

.

Thanks for all the fan photos on social the week of the conference, we are so glad you had time to stop by.

.

.

If you were among the few and incredibly lucky, you may have even walked away with your own #BruceTheMoose stuffed animal mini! Do not forget to take loving care of him, which includes sharing his research adventures, trials, and tribulations (but most of all, travels!), on social media as you go.

Below are some channels you can stay connected with us on, wherever you are!

Division E Seed Grant Competition Student Researchers: Contestants and Overall Winner of Our One-Year Subscription Grand Prize!

.

We were also thrilled to return as a sponsor for our friends at the DivE Seed Grant Competition, which kicked off the virtual/hybrid AERA event this year.

.

Finalists bravely presented in front of a live, video audience to defend their 3-minute proposals, which detailed the uniqueness, value, and practicality of their own research projects.

.

The lucky overall winner receives a $1,000 grant, which they had to detail the use for in their pitch, and a premium SWAG package from us here at Dedoose! (You guessed it: they receive a FULL-SIZED, very own bag of our now-famous, Grounded Theory coffee!).

.

We would like to thank each of the finalists again for submitting their proposals, and for their courage shown by pitching their research live:

.

1 – “Platicas: Dialogo between College Counselors and Latinx High School Students”, Maritza Cha, Urban Leadership, Claremont Graduate University

.

2- “Unpacking Early Adolescents’ Civic Competencies Revealed in Dialogue-Intensive Curriculum: Using a Brand-New Civic Reasoning Coding Scheme”, Saetbyul (Clara) Kim, Educational Psychology, The Ohio State University

.

3- “Exploring the Experiences of Gender Diverse Youth in School-Based Athletics”, Aidan Kraus, Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, Boston University

.

4- “Developing and Testing a Culturally Responsive Math Game to Reduce Math Anxiety among Latinx Elementary School Students”, Luz Robinson, School Psychology, University of North Carolina

.

As a reminder to those who may not know, Division E seeks to encourage a new way of supporting research and presenting research ideas through its “DivE In” Seed Grant Competition.

.

This pitch and contest were modeled after the Three Minute Thesis competition created by the University of Queensland.

.

The DivE In competition offers graduate students and early career faculty members/researchers a unique way of “pitching” their research ideas and gaining experience in their respective fields of study.

.

These packages contain some serious SWAG for the winners, everyone…It is not easy to get a full-sized coffee from us!

.

HINT: Stay tuned re: how we decided on our final flavors (we also have Research Blend, and a Mixed Methods brew). We are working on using Dedoose to show you how we arrived at the final options.

May Sneak Peak: Level Up Your Analytical Prowess in Dedoose with Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Eli Lieber

.

We noticed that many of you mentioned being ready to take your Dedoose skills “to the next level.” With this in mind, we are working hard to offer you additional webinar options.

.

These virtual events will continue to be offered by us, COMPLETELY FREE to you!

.

You can plan to mark your calendar for May 12th at 11am PDT, when Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Eli Lieber will present live and walk you through the Analytical Workspace in Dedoose.

.

.

This is a perfect option for those working with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods data in Dedoose.

.

Tell your colleagues, and plan to bring your questions. Whichever analytical function you might want to learn more about, or troubleshoot, this is the perfect time to resolve both queries.

.

Do not Forget: We Offer Two FREE, LIVE Dedoose 101 Webinars, Every Week!

.

As those of you who stopped by our booth in-person at AERA 2022 may know, our Support Staff is insanely friendly, and even more excited to help you! This also applies to Dr. Lieber, so do not be afraid to raise your questions, and ask for specific examples.

.

.

Thanks again to everyone who reached out to us, came to say hello, or otherwise gave us feedback during the AERA conference.

There is nothing better than getting to speak with you in person. We are so appreciative of your support, and the recommendations you make to colleagues, friends, and students.

.

We could not do what we do without YOU!
